John Kenneth White is a Professor of Politics and has taught at Catholic University since 1988.
Professor White is author of several books on political parties and the American Presidency including The New Politics of Old Values; The Values Divide: American Politics and Culture in Transition; Still Seeing Red: How the Cold War Shapes the New American Politics; Barack Obama's America: How New Conceptions of Race, Family, and Religion Ended the Reagan Era; and What Happened to the Republican Party?
He has also co-edited two books with Sandra Hanson on the American Dream titled The American Dream in the 21st Century and Latino/a American Dream. He is also the co-author with Matthew Kerbel of American Political Parties: Why They Formed, How They Function, and Where They're Headed.
His forthcoming book is titled The Republican Party, Donald Trump, and the Rise of Authoritarianism. This volume examines the history of the Republican party that culminated in the election of Donald Trump.
Professor White has made numerous media appearances writes a biweekly column covering politics and religion for The Hill.
